Convert LLC to S Corporation VS Filing an Election

Category : S Corporaiton Election
Posted On : 18th Apr 2016

1. Your S Corporation will be recognized immediately by the Internal Revenue Service if you file a conversion of your LLC with the state.

 2. Your S Corporation will be recognized following year, if you file an election with the Internal Revenue Service instead of filing a conversion.

3. You will use the same EIN if filed an election to file taxes as an S Corporation of your LLC otherwise you have to apply for a new EIN.

I have obtained a cigar license in Maryland through my business, House of Time, Inc. I was not sent any type of license to display. The companies I buy cigars from are asking me for a copy of my license. I do not have one. My license number is: 10751. This number I was given over the phone. Where can I get proof of my license to send to these companies? Please reply through my email. Thank you, Brenda McCabe

Dear  Brenda McCabe:

Number is not enough to prove that you have been registered with the state. You must receive the certificate which should be displayed at your location.
